Happy New Year! Have you renewed any intentions for 2024? I have, and a big one is to rekindle the flame with my friends and community. That means you. 

Yes, I know. I have been letting our precious connection dwindle. It’s on me. I have been holing up with work and other day-to-day obligations for way too long. I want to set it right the year and re-emerge more from the lockdowns as much as my heart wants. All those work recognitions, like the Hollywood Asian Film Festival’s Golden Diamond and Busan’s New Wave Award for my new media art or the Ommie Award for my book, are not as meaningful as my relationship with my friends and community.

I will kick this intention off and invite you to watch Heart Sutra, the piece that earned my red carpet award, in person and have some good old fun. Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 3, at 7 pm, and I will see you at SIY Gallery’s private viewing suite.
